How does a course retake affect CGPA at Daffodil International University (DIU)?

Under official DIU academic regulations, if a student passes a course with a grade lower than B (3.00), or fails with an 'F', they are eligible to repeat the course. When repeated, the earlier grade is cancelled and the new grade obtained in the last attempt replaces it in the CGPA calculation. The credit hours are counted only once in completed degree credits. Retake fees are not covered by tuition waivers.

About Daffodil International University (DIU) Grading Policy

Daffodil International University (DIU) utilizes an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum on the official UGC-approved 4.00 letter grading system.

Grades range from A+ (4.00 for 80% and above) down to F (0.00 for below 40%), with courses weighted by their assigned credit hours (typically 3.0 for theory, 1.0 or 1.5 for lab courses, and 3.0 to 6.0 for capstone projects and internships).

Students earning a grade below B (3.00) in any course are permitted to repeat/retake the course. When repeated, the previous attempt is cancelled in the CGPA calculation and replaced by the grade earned in the last attempt.

Undergraduate students must maintain a cumulative CGPA of 2.00 or higher to remain in Good Academic Standing. A CGPA below 2.00 places the student on Academic Probation for up to 3 semesters before dismissal.

This calculator uses official grade point scale boundaries published by Daffodil International University (DIU). It automatically computes credit-weighted course grade points without storing any data on external servers.

Daffodil International University (DIU) Course Retake Policy Explained

Under DIU policy, students who receive a grade below B (such as B-, C+, C, D, or F) can repeat the course for grade improvement upon paying the required course fees.

Students who receive an 'F' grade are allowed a maximum of two repeat attempts for that particular course.

When a course is repeated, the previous grade is cancelled in the CGPA computation and the grade earned in the final attempt is used.

Tuition waivers and financial aid discounts do not apply to retaken courses; students must pay the full fee for repeated subjects.
